Sisters Chicken Noodle Soup Mix

Ingredients: Orecchiette (Semolina wheat, niacin, iron (ferrous sulfate), thiamin, mononitrate, riboflavin, folic acid), Chicken Base (Real Salt™, onion, dried chicken, rosemary, garlic, tapioca, carrot, turmeric, ground rice hulls, hawthorn berry, cumin, thyme, black pepper, celery), carrot, onion, chives, rosemary, ginger, thyme, black pepper, curry, & spices.

Contains Wheat.

SMALL SIZE You will need

• 1/2 Chicken breast cubed or 3 oz canned chicken
• 3 3/4 cups water

LARGE SIZE You will need

• 1 Chicken breast cubed or 6 oz canned chicken
• 7 1/2 cups water

Stovetop Directions

1. Open bag with scissors.
2. In a 4-quart saucepan, brown the meat and drain the fat. Add water and both seasoning packets.
3. Cover and bring to a boil.
4. Stir in the noodles, cover again, and reduce heat to a simmer. Cook for 15 minutes or until the noodles are soft.
5. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot.

Instant Pot Directions: Reduce the water by 1/2 cup for small package or 1 cup for the large package. Add the water, soup mix, and diced meat to the Instant Pot. Lock the lid, seal the valve, and set to Soup Mode or High Pressure. Cook for 5 minutes, then let the pressure release naturally. Enjoy!

Vegetable Overload: Add 1 or 2 cups of fresh vegetables, such as summer squash or broccoli. Toss in some spinach or kale 10-15 minutes before serving to boost your intake of greens and add extra vitamins.

Make it Creamy: Reduce water by 1 cup, cook as normal, and right before serving, stir in 1 cup of half and half.

Mix up the Meat: For a twist, use sausage or ground turkey instead of chicken to change up the flavor profile.

Boost the Broth: Cook with bone-in chicken, such as thighs,  to infuse the soup with healthy vitamins, minerals, and collagen for added richness and depth.

Vegetarian: Prepare without meat, discard the yellow chicken base packet, use 15 oz. vegetable broth, and reduce water by 2 cups. If desired, add a meat substitute.

Low Sodium: Discard the chicken packet, replace 2 cups of water with low sodium chicken broth, or simply add less of the chicken packet to reduce the sodium. 

Ginger & Pepper Boost: Add 1/2 teaspoon of fresh grated ginger and 1/4 teaspoon of red pepper flakes.

Lemon Zest: For a bright, refreshing flavor, squeeze in some fresh lemon juice just before serving.

Since the beginning, we've named our soups after real places throughout Washington and the surrounding Northwest. From small towns and mountain peaks to rivers, canyons, and historic landmarks, each name was chosen because it means something to us and the region we call home. Each soup has a story, and so does the place that gave it its name.

Three large volcanic peaks that dominate the skyline gave Sisters, Oregon its name. Known as Faith, Hope, and Charity by early European settlers, the Three Sisters have a rich history in both Native American lore and the accounts of early European explorers.

Native stories describe how the three sisters once fought for the attention of Mt. Bachelor to the south. According to legend, their quarrel grew so intense that it caused chaos across the Oregon landscape. While the North and Middle Sisters continued to argue, the South Sister caught Mt. Bachelor’s attention. Before a wiser elder named Jack intervened to break up the dispute, the North and Middle Sisters stripped the trees from the South Sister’s crown.

Today, the North Sister—the oldest of the three—is extinct, with the magma source that once fed it no longer active. The Middle Sister is dormant and is expected to erupt again in the future. The South Sister, the youngest, remains active and last erupted less than 2,000 years ago, meaning it could erupt again at any time.

The Three Sisters lie within the Three Sisters Wilderness, the second-largest wilderness area in Oregon. The region offers more than 260 miles of trails to explore, and the South Sister continues to draw hikers who are drawn to its striking presence on the horizon.
